Gamma pt. 43

The weekend had hit and Jess, Sharise and Dean found themselves discussing the better parts of James Bond. The movies playing more the part of background noise to their more important conversation.

Jess: Yeah I think it really does matter.

Sharise: I have to agree. If a guy can do the exact same thing with a big dick that he can with a small dick it’s so much better.

Dean: I couldn’t tell you. I’ve never had either.

Sharise: You serious? I mean I know you’re a lesbian and all but I figured you didn’t like it so you tried ladies and settled.

Dean: I didn’t settle. I just never found the right one.

Jess: Meaning?

Dean: Well, I have found guys that are attractive, they just never did anything for me.

Jess: That’s b.s. because I remember that you had a serious crush on Brian.

Sharise: Ooh…who’s this Brian guy

Jess: A friend of ours that we used to work with…well I still do.

Dean: That was different. It wasn’t so much him as it was a certain aspect of him.

Sharise: How so?

Dean: Well he works out…a lot.

Sharise: Ah…so size does matter.

Dean: Huh?

Sharise: I mean that you just broke up with this Jade chick and she was pretty big, right?

Dean: Yeah…

Sharise: And you were crushing on this Brian guy and he’s pretty big. I think I just nailed down a fetish for you.

Dean: Well yeah I do like the muscles. But doesn’t every girl?

Sharise: Not necessarily. I mean muscles represent strength and power and they are turn ons for sure. But most guys or gals who achieve all that power do so through steroids or supplements, which fuck with their bodies so the general consensus is you can get too big and disgusting.

Dean: Not for me. I would love to get dominated by a huge muscled behemoth.

Jess: A huge muscled behemoth?

Dean: Okay, yeah that did sound pretty dorky.

Sharise: No worries, honey. We’re all young and we all have our things. Jess I notice you have been pretty well quiet since Brian got brought up.

Dean: Her and Brian used to have a thing.

Jess: Not really. I mean yeah…but…it’s hard to explain.

Sharise: Try us.

Dean: Yeah…we’re all ears.

Jess: I was going through a very weird time in my life. And I was doing some very stupid things. I got into some stuff that I don’t recommend and I made some poor choices. But I’m getting better now. I don’t rely on the stuff any more.

Sharise: Jesus. What was the stuff and where can I get a hold of it.

Dean: Jess used to go ga ga over energy drinks.

Jess: it didn’t matter what it was. As long as it had tons of sugar. The last one I did was called Gamma. The high was great but I crashed for two days afterwards. I stopped them cold turkey after that.

Dean: You could say it was a life-changing experience.

Grace Harmon walked in on the girls from her home office of grading some papers. “You girls want some sandwiches? I had to take a break from grading all those papers.” The girls said in unison, “Sure” and then chuckled a bit. After whipping up some turkey on rye with mustard, Grace and the girls gathered around the kitchen table and chowed down.

Dean: Jess, I thought you hated mustard.

Jess: I used to but I found out it was good for you so I am making an effort.

Grace: Good for you, girl.

Jess: I’m actually in the process of actually using my free membership over at Omni-Gym.

Grace: That will be nice. You know your sister can’t be the only one in the family using the benefits.

Jess: Heh…yeah. How did you know my sister worked there?

Grace: Oh honey, Brie Woods is always trying to get me to sign up at your gym. She thinks that if I sign up, all my students will also just so they can butter me up.

Dean: Not a bad idea actually.

Sharise: Yes it is. No matter how much you try, you cannot warm up the ice queen when it comes to grades.

Grace: Now sweetie, not in front of the guests.

Sharise: Then when…Mother.

Dean and Jess share a nervous look. Having just finished their sandwiches, they put their plates into the sink. “Oh crap! I just remembered a library book I forgot to return” Dean yelled out suddenly. “You want a ride over there? I’ve been meaning to checkout a book on cardio.” Jess said to back her up.” Sorry to bail on you Sharise. Thanks for the sandwiches, Ms. Harmon!” Jess hollered out as the girls got into Jess car and headed off.

Grace: You better remember you’re place while you’re in my house, Sharise!

Sharise: What are you going to do about it, Grace?

Sharise’ hands began to slightly glow green, unnoticeable to Grace. Still fuming over her lack of respect, Grace smacked Sharise on the cheek, the shock of which killed the glowing hands and whatever their intentions were to Grace Harmon.

Grace: That’s what I’m going to do. Get the hell out of my sight.

Sharise did as she was told and stormed off into her room. Tears streamed from her eyes as she looked down at her hands as they regained their glowing aura with more intensity. “You won’t be doing that for much longer, bitch!” She thought to herself.

Later that evening, Brian and Brie found themselves exiting the movie theatre. “So tell me again how I ended up watching Gone with the Wind?”

Brie: Because a friend would want to spend time with me, no matter what we were doing.

Brian: Who the hell came up with that bullshit?

Brie chucked and held Brian’s arm closely as they walked toward their car. Neither Brian nor Brie had thought about getting out of Gone with the Wind after 11:00pm since they had caught a matinee. As they passed a little bistro, a loud and ignorant voice cried out to the couple of friends slowly working to a first date.

Stranger: Hey man, you and you’re lady ought to find somewhere private to go. Like a warehouse.

Brian: Excuse me?

Stranger: Jus’ saying’ man. Dat’s a big woman you got there.

Brian: She’s a friend of mine. And I don’t appreciate you hurting her feelings like that.

Brie: It’s okay, Brian. Let’s just go. We can swing by that coffee shop I’ve been hearing so much about.

Brian: In a minute, I have to make sure this gentleman learns some manners.

Stranger: Man I know my fuckin’ manners. I was just trying to be helpful.

Brie tugged at Brian’s arm and choosing the better part of valor, Brian turned around and walked away. After getting a little distance between them, Brie gently gave Brian a side hug. “Thanks for not causing a scene.” Brian gave a little hug back. “I just don’t want asshats like him talking smack about you.” Brie put her hand on Brian’s. “It’s okay…really”

Stranger: Yeah…You better listen to your bitch! You better run away!

Brian: No Brie, It isn’t.

Brian turned back around and charged the guy full force slamming him into the wall. Pinning his large forearm against his throat and cupping his balls in an iron grip, Brian leaned in close to the strangers ear. The smell of him nearly made Brian puke, but he managed to keep it down. “Get something straight asshole. That girl back there is special. And you should treat her with respect. Now…apologize to the lady” Brian turned so that the stranger could see Brie.

Stranger: I’m sorry, lady

Brian: For?

Stranger: For being an asshole.

Brian: And…

Stranger: And for calling you a bitch

Brian pushed himself back, staring vehemently into the strangers eyes. He turned around and began walking toward Brie. The stranger flipped a butterfly knife and brought It up and started charging toward Brian. “Brian” Brie screamed in terror as she could only watch the events unfold before her eyes. Brian brought his foot up to his belly as he turned his head to face the stranger. Launching his foot into his belly, the stranger was winded, and dropped the butterfly knife onto the sidewalk. Brian knelt down and picked it up, flipping it as though he had been trained by a master. “These things are pretty dangerous. How about I hold onto it for you” The stranger had doubled up in pain and managed to gurgle out a ‘uh huh’. As Brian was down close to the stranger he pulled out his wallet and dropped a twenty in front of the bum. You look like you could use this more than me. Go grab a hot meal.” Brian got up and put the butterfly knife in his jacket pocket and rejoined Brie. The two got to Brian’s car with no further interruption. Brian started the car and headed out of the parking lot.

Brie: That was amazing. Where did you learn to do that stuff?

Brian: When I was a teenager, I used to get picked on a lot so my mom enrolled me into some martial arts classes. Guess it’s like riding a bike.

Brie: I never knew that.

Brian: It was before I met you. By then my focus had switched to bodybuilding with your dad.

Brie: How exactly did you and my dad meet?

Brian: He was friends with Mr. Ward, my Kenpo teacher. I don’t know if you ever remember him. Your dad would stop by every so often to get some help with starting up the gym.

Brie: Yeah he was pretty cool. He didn’t hang around much after his daughter passed away.

Brian: Yeah that hit him pretty hard. He moved away after that. Then your dad kind of took me under his wing. Didn’t want me getting into trouble I suppose.

Brie: That sounds about right. I remember the first time I met you. You were helping him set up the gym.

Brian parked the car in front of Brie’s house. “Sorry. I guess I forgot where I was going” Brie smiled a bit. It’s okay. I wasn’t really in the mood for coffee anyway. I do have some hot cocoa if you’re interested” Brie replied slyly.

Brian: I don’t know, Brie. It’s pretty late.

Brie: We can probably catch some of the Bond marathon.

Brian: Okay…you twisted my…

Brie launched into Brian’s face with a passionate kiss. A bit resistant at first, Brian returned her kiss with a deep inhalation. He gently caressed her cheek as his tongue softly parted his lips and founds it’s way to Brie’s. After a minute, they broke their kiss. “What was that for?” Brian asked.

Brie: I wanted to thank you for earlier and I didn’t want you to say no.

Brian: You didn’t have to thank me, Brie.

Brie: Yes I did. This week has been one of the best of my life. I know you want to take it slow and that’s fine. I just really wanted to do that.

Brian: I’m glad you did.

As they got out of the car, small snowflakes began to fall around them. “I didn’t think it was supposed to snow this weekend.” Brian said quizzically. “Must be a sign” Brie said with a wink. “I mean the first of December is next week” Brian smiled, “Looks like I got an early Christmas present.” Brie blushed as she unlocked the door and began to prepare the hot cocoa.

Meanwhile back at Jess’ house, her and Dean sat on opposite ends of the couch, having spent the day catching up and getting back into the groove of their friendship, which was almost as if nothing had even changed.

Jess: Hey, check it out…it’s snowing.

Dean: No shit. I hadn’t even checked the weather. I should probably get going.

Jess: No don’t go. It’s slick out there. You can crash here. I’ll take the couch.

Dean: As much as I would rather stay here, I don’t think it’s right. Not yet.

Jess: Nothing will happen. Besides, I know you don’t want to go home. Especially with your dad.

Dean: It’s okay…really. He just needs to realize that he has a problem.

Jess: That’s not going to happen. You’re an enabler, you know that.

Dean: Yeah I know. But he’s the only family I have.

Jess: Doesn’t make it right. Call me when you get there, okay.

Dean: Okay.

The girls hugged goodbye and Dean left. Jess hopped back to her bedroom and laid on her bed, the biggest smile in the world plastered all over her face. “Today was one of the best days of my life” She thought to herself as she waited for Dean’s call. When it finally came they talked for hours about absolutely nothing at all. A friendship rekindled with the promise of something more to come.
